The Man behind Gayalaxy Project is Hélder José Martins, a Producer/Musician born and based in Guimarães Portugal. Helder musical journey started around the age of 15 playing drums and bass in garage bands for many years.

Searching for new sounds, in the dawn of the new Millenium, he discovered the electronic dance music in the goa trance parties and he felt a deep connection to it! A few years later he started to mix some chill tunes in the chill out floor of parties and festivals around Portugal!

Around 2010 he began to compose and produce his own sounds and so Kala Hari project was born, focused on dub chill ambient tracks.

At the beginning of 2017, he made a track called “Night Sky” under the alias of Kala Hari for the VA Moon Salutations by Djane Allix released by the Electrik Dream label.

In this track Hélder explores the more progressive chill 4/4 beats and motivated by this new approach he decided to create Gayalaxy project, exploring deep trance spatial atmospheres, melodic soundscapes, mid/up-tempo rhythms, and progressive chill beats.

His debut Ep “Eyes of God” was released at Astropilot Music label May 2017 and in the summer of 2018 he released his album “Ashes of Time” in Astropilot Music Label that got very good reviews and feedback and was selected as one of the best albums of the year!

Also, a remixed album from Ashes of Time came out in September 2018 that was also nominated as one of the best remixes albums of 2018!

Gayalaxy was nominated as one of the best upcoming new artists of 2018 by psybient.org.

The inspiration for this project goes from deep mystic earth into distant realms of space, stars, and galaxies. Music crafted with love towards soul liberation.

Live presentations at Global Chill Out festival (Czech Republic), he performed also at Freedom Festival (Portugal), Shankra Festival (Swiss), Old School Gathering (Portugal), Unity of Love Gathering (Portugal), The Announcers of Equinox (Romania).
